Here's how NYSNLA serves our Members and Nursery and Landscape Professionals on Long Island:
- To qualify for NYSNLA membership, a professional has to belong to a Region. Long Island is an Administrative Region of NYSNLA called PlantLI. When joining or renewing in NYSNLA, a Long Island-based professional pay their NYSNLA state dues—and then choose Region 1/PlantLI. There will be no Regional membership dues ($0) for opting-in to Region 1/PlantLI.
- Long Island members have a voice on the NYSNLA Board of Directors through their Director-at-Large Tony Caggiano. Tony is a Past NYSNLA and LINLA President. Tony is available to answer questions and assist you.
- Current NYSNLA President Melissa Caggiano is happy to speak with any Long Island professional and answer questions about NYSNLA. Melissa is a Past LINLA President.
- For CNLP-holders and those looking to pursue the CNLP, PlantLI-Region1's CNLP Coordinator is Past NYSNLA & LINLA President Vinnie Drzewucki of Cornell University Cooperative Extension of Nassau County. The Co-Coordinator is Mina Vescera of Cornell University Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County.
If you would like to assist PlantLI, Tony Caggiano, and your colleagues across Region 1, please contact the NYSNLA State Office at (518) 580-4063 or [email protected]. We will work with you to make it happen!
